White denim, nude heels and a crochet bolero

WHEN : Tuesday 15th October

THE DEETS :
Capris: Woolworths
Cami: Contempo
Bolero : CCI (Cheap Chinese Import - Wording stolen from sisters friend)
Sandals : Fashion Express
Bracelet : Bought at a store in Graskop
Earrings : Truworths

THE DAY PLAN : Besides working on the final edits of the photos of little Lisa, I had planned to get some reading of my current module done.  I'm wanting to get both of these things finished by the end of the week.

I decided to put up the tripod and quickly take my pictures of the outfit as I find that by the afternoon its a bit mad in our house, so I decided to quickly do them.  Took all of about 5 minutes in total.

I love these capris, so much so that I also bought a red and mint pair when they were in store and which have all been featured many times on the blog.  They're comfy enough to sit in the entire day.  The sandals I bought about a week back.  I wanted wedge nude sandals as they're so versatile and you can really wear them with everything.  Since I'm a 'retrenched recession`ista reworking her wardrobe' now, I'm really not shopping much, but I can't resist a little purchase here and there.  I bought these after my sister had bought a face cream that I had in my stock basket, so I didn't feel too guilty.  I wanted a pair of nude sandals and when I saw these, except for the brushed suede finish, they were perfect - the height of the heel and the colour.

My cute crochet bolero has maybe made one appearance on the blog.  Schatz bought it for me and I can't remember the exact store, but I'm pretty sure it was at a Chinese store.  I really like it, but find I'm challenged on how to style it.  Today it seemed to fit well.

Well pretty ones - thats all for me for today.  I'm now headed off to collect my nephew, then my son and then to drop my nephew and mother at their home.

Have a magnificent day now.

Nothing but neutrals

The Deets : Skirt, Tank and Shoes : Truworths | Cardigan : Legit | Necklace : Accessorize | Bracelets : Contempo
Todays look took shape at the last minute - I had not quite planned what to wear, but this outfit came together around the skirt, followed by the cardigan and then the tank was added.

In all honesty I almost felt as thought I were dressed my age and a little more professional and a little less trendy than usual.  Its a safe, practical outfit.

I bought this cardigan a few weeks back from Legit - I liked the 'chain' details on the trim and the faux pockets.
Yesterday I saw another women in my age group wearing the same cardigan and I was quite impressed by how great it looked on her.  This range of clothing by Toya Delazy is marketed at a younger age group, but there are a few items that I feel are totally appropriate for the more mature trendy ladies.
I would like to get a necklace and arm chains that are more like the trim, but with the little gold sequins in the cardigan, I think the pearl and gold accessories picked up nicely.

Coral and grey

Faux wrap skirt and coral knit
Another quick and simple remixed outfit that I wore last week Wednesday.  I have not worn this skirt as many times as I had initially thought I had.  All items have been seen before.  I do love grey and coral together.  Considering that I have not had these boots very long, I've already worn them quite a few times, which means they are worth every cent I spent on them already.

Casual baroque and denim on Friday

I bought this top with a baroque type design on it at Ackermans some time back and the quality is really super and this material is comfy and soft.
Baroque printed top with skinny jeans

Skinny jeans a grey wedge boots

Grey wedge heel boots
My boots I picked up last weekend from the Chinese store on sale.   I have been looking for a pair of grey boots since last winter and the price of these were great.   The wedge is super comfy and although I upsized a shoe size and they are a little loose on my feet but not to the point of flopping about.
The skinny jeans from Woolworths and bracelets are old friends. I have gained a little weight around my middle so the jeans are a wee bit tight and you can guess how badly I want to get out of them ;-).
Well friends ... it's almost weekend for me ... what are your plans?   My troupe are all writing exams so we won't be galavanting much which may mean I can get some fun time with my camera.
Happy Friday.

Black, white and a fuschia blazer

Pearl bracelets
My new pearl necklace made its second debut today.  It looked gorgeous with this shirt and possibly because it was against my skin, it was more noticeable than when I wore it around the collar of my shirt.

Monday morning and I broke my 'no black on a Monday' rule but I think the fuschia blazer made up for it.  All in all a happy outfit.

I was initially going to wear black shoes, but decided to add some sass by wearing my leopard print kitten heels.

We're still having such great weather and the evenings are even unusually warm.  It makes me a little nervous that we are going to hit by some really really cold weather.
The reason I took photos inside - the wind was blowing me away

Inspired Monday

Yesterday I was surfing style blogs instead of doing other things I should have been doing and found this blog and found myself crushing over Laura's style.  Refined, elegant and feminine.

This gorgeous look ...

... inspired this look.
Preparation
I had originally thought of wearing my grey knit, which is identical, but then thought I'd go for the cream and keep the grey for another look of Laura's that inspired me.

When on earth is the posing every going to become natural?

Our nights are getting longer.  It was decidedly chilly when we out to take these pictures at around 6pm and when we walked back inside both Schatz and I dashed off to put on another layer.

Pearls and polka dots

My sisters and me met for our Sistas dinner and celebrated Mothers Day since we are all mothers, at the Mugg and Bean.   The meal was great,  the service excellent and the company insane.

For work I wore my newish Mr. Price mens polka dot shirt.  I still need to alter it a little but will need to be inspired to do that.   I teamed or with my new pearl necklace,  basic black work trousers, red blazer and pearl bracelets.

On an interesting Tuesday I wore ... Black and Cream

Beautiful Bobbi
This lovely new skirt comes thanks to my Schatz.  It has a tweed print on the front which is what caught my eye.  Although the cold weather has not 'set in' I decided to wear black tights with the outfit as my bare legs didn't look right.  The top is my black sleevless peplum with a black long sleeved top underneath.

Today I received the Visa interview date information for Courteneys' application.  Next week she goes for her medical and on 11 June is the day.  Before we know it, she'll be heading State side - providing she stops fighting with us about it.  Its a choice she made some time back and was adamant about and now is hesitant, which is understandable, however I think its the best thing.
Bobbi being curious
Our cute little Bobbi girl was curious and when I rubbed my fingers together she jumped up to see if I had anything.   I love when she jumps up and grabs me with her paws as she does it so gently ... she's a really sweet little animal.   With the evenings being cooler, she's spending most evenings snuggled between Schatz and I.

You may notice my hair is a lot darker ... Courteney and I coloured my hair and despite our best effort not to, we managed to colour my highlights but I'm sure they'll show up a little more with each hair wash.  Under the light you can see them, just not as clearly as they were.  If they don't show up quickly though, I will probably have a few foils done .. and on that thought, I'm on my way again ... hope your Tuesday was fabulous ...

Grey and mint for Thursday

After purchasing this skirt to wear to a wedding, I was looking forward to wearing it again as its so comfortable and I do so love mint.  I have a number of inspiration pictures saved featuring mint coloured skirts and pants.  I originally intended wearing it with a navy and white cardigan, but my grey floral shirt caught my eye.  I slipped on my favourite grey ombre heels and a cream belt.

I wore my new Trench coat that Schatzie bought me a month back as it was just cool enough this morning and used my grey handbag given to me as a birthday gift by my sister Norma last year.

Jewellery features the pearl and gold bracelet from Contempo and the necklace is from Miladys.

Two hectic days at work this week had me wanting to wear work wear that was comfortable and this skirt fits the bill perfectly.

Thank goodness tomorrows Friday - I'm really looking forward to this weekend and just relaxing.

Hope your week has been wonderful so far.

I wore a black and white polka dot shirt from the mens dept. .. to work on Monday

I have been looking for a white and black polka dot cotton shirt for a few months now.  I saw sheer-ish nylon shirts, but with big polka dots and black shirts with white polka dots and was about giving up hope of finding what I was wanting when saw this in the mens dept. at Mr. Price three weeks back when I took Jarod shopping ... oh happiness!
White and black bag from Justine Cosmetics
The shirt is in need of a little tailoring and feminising which I'll get done soon.  I was going to war it with a white skirt, but then decided to wear a black skirt instead.  I thought I'd go with what is in fact my most favourite colour pairing even, black and white. There was a time in my life where 99% of my clothing was black and white with very little colour.  I just found it so easy to wear and still do, but do know that colour does amazing things for me.

Black and white is always nice
I could not decide what to wear on my arm but since I wore my triple string of pearls, I decided to go with the pearl and gold bracelet set to add a little something of a different 'colour'.

I wore a mint coloured skirt ... to an afternoon wedding

Schatz and I attended a fellow Toy Run champions wedding this afternoon.  Ian and Melene chose Thornbirds, a venue very close to our home and they decided to have an afternoon affair.  The bride looked lovely and I do wish them a happy and long union.  Ian was so nervous waiting for her to come down the isle that he was sweating up a stream.  The ceremony was lovely and the reception was relaxed with snacks out in the gardens and drinks and lavender and rose cupcakes for the wedding cake ... most interestingly though,  the brides maids and groomsmen wore jeans!
This is me ... Hi.
I wore this gorgeous mint 'lace' skirt (the material is the same as my white 'lace' skirt) that I picked up on sale at Truworths along with a top I've worn previously, despite having purchased a silver/grey sequence top, Courteney and I decided that this one looked much better.  The silver clutch I purchased will need to find another even for me to use it for.

Striking a pose
I'm looking forward to Tuesday because my hairdresser is going to work her magic ... my hair is in need of a trim (I had to trim my bang this morning) and the roots need colouring badly.

Autumn is in full swing here and the trees are looking so beautiful ... I do so enjoy a second spring each year.

Thanks to my lovely mint skirt, I'll be linking up to Patti at Not Dead Yet Style.

The days of uncertain weather

Autumn snuck up on us .. its been toying with us with promising of cooler weather but today, the temperatures started dropping.  Since our offices were like an oven yesterday I thought I'd get away with a last stab at Summer outfit.

Contempo
I went to do my vitamin shopping after work yesterday and had to pop into my favourite stores across the way from Dischem.  There were some interesting bits about and I behaved and picked up this set of bracelets at Contempo.   There were some interesting items in the store and I managed to behave and not bring anything else home with me ... but it was difficult.
There are such pretty knits, jeans and jackets in the stores.  With winter nipping at our heels, the stores will be doing serious winter trade this weekend.  I'm glad I've washed my coats and jackets and am as prepared for the cold as I can be.

A quick dash on Sunday ... Camo shirt

Yesterday, before the kids got back home, we headed off to buy a longer telephone cable, so I got a chance to look at a few stores (only three – oh okay maybe five!!) (okay, we did go into Truworths Man, Mr. Price, Woolworths and Ackermans – and I showed G-man a jacket in the entrance to Truworths) and one shoe store … I’m really loving the bits of leather on the new clothing in store.  Contempo has a lovely little shift dress in black or red that has a little leather and stud detail … they’ve added a polo neck underneath it in the photo below, which is not my favourite type of top .  But to wear it for winter it makes sense, but possibly I’d go for more of a turtle neck top as opposed to the polo.
Contempo also had some snazzy leggings, jeans and tops and their usual offering of office appropriate items.  If you’re looking for a really corporate look at affordable prices, I’d recommend Contempo.  Their items are also mix and match and for a budget conscious lady, they’d do well visiting.
This lovely jacket, which is also available in blue as well as a black and white striped from Ackermans goes for R199.00.  I did not get to ‘feel’ the fabric but it sure looked okay from where I was viewing it.

A quick dash into Woolworths and I did not even get to roam the shoes section – but I spied a lovely short-ish cream trench with a leopard print lining that I’d love to try on.  I have seen online that they have it in a divine orange as well, but since I have an orange coat, I’d give it a miss.  Personally I’d love the cream coloured trench.

I’ve tried to find pictures online of the boots I saw but no luck as yet – I saw a long pair of black Bronx boots that I am lusting after and then a black ankle boot, with a cream toe cap and a line of gold between the two but I don’t remember the brand … I really do like them.

We took a quick stroll through Mr. Price looking for some camo tops for the little man, but we did not find any.  We looked at quite a few items for the boys, but then decided to rather take them with us as they’re at the age where they’re developing their own styles.  I agree with him totally.

A new addition to my wardrobe, yet to be worn, is this top from Mr. Price.  Graeme raised an eyebrow as he feels it’s a little ‘young’ and I’m in agreement, but I think if I style it right I could rock it.  Courteney felt it was not too young, but she was surprised by my choice.
So, do you think it’s too young for me to wear Camo?  I’ve seen ‘maturer’ bloggers sporting it.
