February 14 - Valentine's Day

So - tell me all about it?  Were you spoilt?  Did you over indulge (I did, a little, with chocolate)?  Did you get red roses?  Pledged of undying love from strangers?

I got a rose ... from my son Liam and two little bears that are a fridge magnet from Jarod.  G-man and I went on Sunday as he wanted to get me a red blazer, but we had no success.  He did give me my favourite marshmallow mice and a sweet letter.

No pledges of undying love from complete strangers though - darn ;-)

We were asked to wear red to work, not just for Valentine's Day, but also in support of the Heart Foundation.  I'm a bit of rebel, so if 'told' to do something, I usually rebel and don't.  But I had a bit of a change of heart this year and decided I'd try to be more involved... so I wore red.  I would have like a sassy dress, but did not manage to find one.

The details : Skirt - Jet, T-shirt - Edgars (I think), Shoes - Truworths, Necklace and earring set - Justine Cosmetics

February 1 - Yellow, the happy sunshine colour

I took this photo after I'd removed my necklace and earrings ... but I did not like the photos I took earlier ...
The belt I bought over the weekend ...

Trying to get a decent picture of the necklace and earring set I wore today

Earrings

The necklace

I wore this dress to my nephews engagement party last year and was rather shocked when I saw the photo of just how low the front is.  So, for the sake of decency, I wore a cami underneath today.

Teasing my man with the promise of a flash
The dress, cardigan and necklace and earring set are from Truworths, the cami from Woolworths, belt from Edgars, shoes from Jet.

I felt good in this outfit today and the yellow was just what I needed to perk up my spirit.

I updated my Weigh-Less page earlier ... need to get exercising!

Hope your day was fantastic.

January 31 - Last day of January

Everyone is saying it, but seriously, can you believe we're saying goodbye to January already?  I can't!  But in some strange way, it feels as though the year has been going on forever already.

Anyways, my look for today was a real bargain ... the skirt and t-shirt I bought over the weekend at Jet at it cost less that R150.00, the scarf was more expensive than either of them (which I also bought this weekend).  The shoes cost more than all the three the above items ... lol.

When chatting with the other secretary, she said, "Wendy, why are you wearing two different earrings"?.  I thought she'd gone batty, but sure enough, I had one pink earring and one pearl earring ... what more can I do than kick up my heels in my pretty nude sandals.
Top and Skirt from Jet, Scarf and belt from Edgars, Shoes from Truworths.

Now I've taken my shoes off and am about to start getting ready to head to class what do I see when I look down?  My nailpolish is the exact same colour as my flip flops ... lol.

What's your 'smell'

I love perfume!  I don't wear a lot of different perfumes and seldomly try new ones.  About 4 years ago I tried Elizabeth Arden's Provocative Woman and the guy I met at the time said that when I wore my 'usual' one, I did not smell right.  Some that I'd put on my favourites list would be Obssession, Opium, Knowing, L'Instant de Guerlain.  I think the perfume someone is wearing when we meet them is the smell we'd usually associate with them.  My 'usual' perfume for about 20 years now has been Clinique Aromatics.  But about 6 months ago I was in Edgars and tried on Bvlgari Omnia ... oh boy, its so sultry and delicious that I bought it for myself.  At the time is cost double what it does now.  Yesterday I got my 'rewards' from Clicks and their latest promotions ... and I'm sure you guessed it, the Omnia was on special.  So this morning, Jazz and I headed to Clicks to pick it up ... what a pleasure - besides being less 25% I got an extra R71.00 off - just my kind of pick me up after the ooopsies of the past week.

Hope you've had something delicious come your way ... ciao bella.

January 17 - My new car

So I did not take an outfit photo as such, there was way too much excitement at our house around my new little car.

I decided to give the dress previously worn early December another try.  This time, I went for my black jacket, red belt and sexy red-dark brown killer heels.  I think it almost is redeemed.  Still have another idea, but must say, it looked way better, but still not exactly how I'd pictured it at the time of purchase in my mind.
However, it the outfit was totally overshadowed by the new car.

It's a Ford Figo and I'm besotted - it's brand spanking new ... I'm so thrilled and a big thanks to my g-man for helping it become a reality.

A side by side view - what do you think =
Stay or go?

Monday stuff

The way you dress
makes a difference
in the way you work.
When your image signals
success, your success
potential increases.

I think this quote so very true ... I love watching 'How do I look' and am always amazed at the difference in how the women carry themselves after their makeover, I think I'm more amazed thought that so many think there's nothing wrong with how they look to start with, but be that as it may, you can visibly see their shoulders straighten and their posture improves 99%.

Deep down I have a fear of losing the plot and ending up having to be overhauled and set straight, so if you suspect that I'm losing the plot, let me know.

October 21 - Thursday Floral

Dress and shoes - Truworths

Belt - Edgars

I love this necklace, but it seems to 'unravel' and I fiddle with it but it seems to keep bunching,
but I still enjoy it.
Necklace - Contempo
Gold Earrings - Truworths

She's got the schoolgirl tan ... I'm envious as I don't have a tan at all.

G-man and I went shopping after work and when we went into Woolies they had some items marked down by 70%!!!  There was not a lot to choose from but I got a grey waistcoat and a military style jacket - although it's very wintery looking, I'll save it for next winter as I've seen by the USA and UK magazines that it's still hot.  There was a cute denim bomber style jacket, but I needed a size bigger.

I had every intention of buying it myself, but he gifted me them ... shhhhhh but I think he wuves me :-)

Tomorrow is Friday ... what am I going to wear.

October 12th - Hot Pink

So finally, almost two months to the day, I'm able to fit into the hot pink shift that I purchased on 10 August that was seriously, seriously tight when I bought it.

I have a bit of an aversion to fitting rooms and very often prefer to purchase an item without trying it on in store.  If it's on sale, I'm aware that the chances of return are extremely low, but I am often prepared to risk it.

So when I got the 'free' grey shoes, I'd gone into Fashion World and bought two dresses ... one worn here previously and the hot pink shift.

About two weeks ago it was still a little too tight on the bootie, but when I fitted it last night, it was perfect!  I am chuffed as my scale is not moving, but I'm feeling a little firming going on around the bootie and the legs, therefore, the morning lunges while brushing my teeth must be doing something.

(excuse the messy hair, I pulled the sunnies out and did not brush it)
I was complimented as usual by the tea ladies and one of the Engineers asked if this is a new outfit and then our IT guy said 'you're looking hot today' ... must the hot pink :-)

The finishing touches ...

Necklace and earrings by the one and only Miz T (my daughter)
Handbag and shoes purchased by G-man last month

Please give my outfit a rating :-)
