Grey and mint for Thursday

After purchasing this skirt to wear to a wedding, I was looking forward to wearing it again as its so comfortable and I do so love mint.  I have a number of inspiration pictures saved featuring mint coloured skirts and pants.  I originally intended wearing it with a navy and white cardigan, but my grey floral shirt caught my eye.  I slipped on my favourite grey ombre heels and a cream belt.

I wore my new Trench coat that Schatzie bought me a month back as it was just cool enough this morning and used my grey handbag given to me as a birthday gift by my sister Norma last year.

Jewellery features the pearl and gold bracelet from Contempo and the necklace is from Miladys.

Two hectic days at work this week had me wanting to wear work wear that was comfortable and this skirt fits the bill perfectly.

Thank goodness tomorrows Friday - I'm really looking forward to this weekend and just relaxing.

Hope your week has been wonderful so far.

Snakeskin scarf

Capris and a scarf
Details : Shoes : Shoecity | Capris : Meltz | T-shirt : Makro | Scarf : Pick 'n Pay | Watch : Fossil

Nude wedges

This morning I decided that since my guys are going to site, I'd dress a little casual.  I choose my linen capris (Meltz) and the batwing-ish t-shirt (Legend @ Makro) and the scarf that my sister Lynn gave me as part of my Christmas present (Pick 'n Pay) and my trust nude wedges (ShoeCity) and my necklace that Taryn gifts me and for the life of me I can't remember where its from, but Charlie something rings a bell (its from State side) so please forgive me.  My watch is a Christmas gift to myself last December and its a Fossil and the ring came from a little tourist store in Graskop and was bought for me by Schatz last year.

We had the most awe inspiring storm last night.  When I was brushing my teeth, lighting came crackling through the sky and as I looked out the window down onto the Klipriver Drive and Bellairs intersection, it hit the lights and that led to sparks flying all over and the traffic lights then went dead.  It was scary and makes your heart beat faster ... poor little Marshy was rather flustered and Tequila was panting heavily and underfoot as she gets highly stressed with storms and fireworks.

Schatz said he was woken a few times after that by the power going out ... lucky for me, I slept through it.

This look is inspired in part by this picture off of Pinterest.  I have planned to replicate it again however, not with shorts but trousers.

Skinnies with polka dots and a little floral
Cami - Pick 'n Pay
Shirt - Brand = Tango
Jeans : Woolworths
Wedges : Brand = Modascopa : Store = Meltz

The photographer this morning is our domestic worker Felicia.  The kids were all still in bed and schatz had headed to bathroom, so she was enlisted to do the honours.

Today a collegue left!  She's off to USA for a holiday and then moving to Australia.  It was hard in a sense to say goodbye, although we are not close, we connected.  Many more of my collegues are going on leave today as well.

I needed the happiness of this coral top today.

Hope your Friday is fantastic - our 'holiday' from the kids starts today as their father arrived last night ... we can run around the house naked now ... lol.

Do say Hi before you head off on your visit.

High-low on Friday

Dress : Mr. Price
Cardi : Fashion Express
Belt : Meltz
Shoes : Shoe City
Bracelets : Various
Necklace : Miladys
Ring : Truworths
Shades : Ray Ban

I opted not to wear my usual jeans/capris this fine Friday morning.  Schatz mentioned as he was readying himself to leave that the temp is expected to reach around 30 Degrees celcius ... so I wanted cool, flowing and free form.

I haven't been so happy to reach Friday in ages.  Its been a long three weeks.

Tomorrow I'm having breakfast with the Justine Cosmetics team ... I haven't seen them in about 3 years and to be honest, I don't know what my Business Leader looks like.  Then the evening we're having dinner for my Schatz and brother-in-law Gordon as it's both their birthdays.  Sadly I'm not able to go with Schatz on the run to Zimbanathi Project tomorrow, but my little guy Liam will be going with which will be good for him to see how far less priveledged children live.

Today marks Jarods last day at Primary School.  A teacher took a photo of us together but sadly its blurred :-(.

This dress has made at least two previous appearance on the blog : Once with red and another time also with blue.

Something old ... something new

Some days I feel inspired.  Some days I have more energy to fiddle with things than others ... today is one of those days, or more specifically, this evening is one as I ditched the 'good mom' image and took the family to McDonald's for dinner.  I was just TOOO tired to cook and way too hot as well.

Something old : my jacket
Something new : my skirt

I picked this skirt up on sale at Contempo about two weeks ago for R120.00.  I liked the print and it's 'heavy' enough for winter as well.  I have mostly tried to buy pants and skirts that I can wear through all the seasons and this lived up to that.  The skirt is a little bit tight, but the next size up was huge and I am so bad about getting clothes sized that I'd rather go with the snug fit.

It's so hot here again, it reached into the early 30's (Celcius).  I'm thankful as always that I work in an office, even if we can't adjust the aircon to suit ourselves, it's cooler than being out there.  I always feel for the kids.

On Friday I want to go and take photos of Jarod doing scholar patrol.  I think it would make a great scrapbook page for his album.  I think it's his last patrol for the year.

Well, before I melt completely, I'm heading away to let the fan blow my hair around.  Hope your day was awesome.

Keep it Simple, Keep it Sassy.

White, then denim

Finally, it's cooling down and apparently will be very much cooler tomorrow.  We had a heatwave for two days and I'm thankful I work in an office ... being outdoors would have had me laid low.

Wednesdays look :
I tried out a new position in the garden, didn't go as well as I'd hoped, but I have not given up my hunt as yet.

Ladylike lace

I enjoyed this look today.  I first wore this skirt just after I purchased it while it was still 'winter', the jacket has made it onto my blog at least twice or maybe three times before and it's another item I don't wear that often, yet I'm usually complimented when I wear blue.  I don't seem to gravitate easily towards blue as a colour choice for myself which may be the reason why it's not a staple item in my closet for me.  Overall, I was fairly pleased with the look.  I took my photos just before bedtime and G-man still commented on getting a lipstick kiss ... lol ... although the lipstick is barely visible.

Skirt : Exact
Tank : Essense at Truworths
Jacket : Fashion Express
Shoes : Legend at Makro
Necklace : Miladys  (Did you know that Miladys is part of the Mr Price Group?)
Belt : Meltz

Did you notice, for the first time in ages my toenails are even painted.  I love them painted, but I so don't enjoy painting them myself.  Ms T used to do that for me often while she was still home.  I have tried to convince G-man and Courts to paint them for me, but to date have been totally unsuccessful.  What would a beautician charge to paint them?

Tonight we had our monthly 'sisters' dinner.  It started off grand.  The food was looking grand, until I got a third of the way into my 'chicken pocket' and found it was totally uncooked ... and then Noleen found the middle of her potate was all brown.  She about tossed her meal when she saw my raw chicken.  It's sitting in the back of my throat right now and my stomach does a little lurch every time I think of the food.  So disappointing ... at least the focaccia as a starter was really good.

Well folks, that's all from me for today ... I think I need some Eno's right about now.

'Til next time ... be Fabulous.
