High Low Shirt dress

This is the dress I bought myself with the money my son gifted me.  They're such generous souls (don't tell him that I actually put the money into his bank account though).

Before I could wear it though, I had to have my Mom mend it and sew new seams as the cat (not this big boy, but our mischievous little Marshy) had attacked it and ripped it - thankfully the rip was right next to the seam so it was easy to fix.

Couldn't resist showing off my big boy (btw he's not the one who attacked my dress - we have three cats and it was the youngest of the bunch)
I'm finding that a lot of the dresses at present are cut with very short bodices - most of them are fitting right under the girls.  I do prefer it when a dress fits in the waist, but am just not finding them to be so.  Its a little uncomfortable, but I'm surviving. I'm guessing I'll just get used to how they feel when someone will change the patterns ... dang Murphy ... lol.
Details:
Dress : Mr. Price
Shoes : Fashion Express
Necklace : Made by my daughter
Bracelet - A gift from my daughter
Although this dress came with a belt, I don't quite like the colour, so when getting dressed I went through a bunch of belts trying to find one that went well with the dress and shoes ... none of them looked right and then I spotted this potential 'belt' which is in fact a necklace.  I've worn necklaces as belts before and providing the item of clothing does not need to be held up by the belt, they're often an interesting alternative.  Have you ever worn a necklace as belt?
The material is lovely and prefect for our hot summers here in Africa - its a really easy comfy wearable cotton blend.
When looking at my photos - I must say, girls like Lyddie just amaze me with their self portraits - I just don't seem to have the knack for it, no matter how well I prepare ... lol.
Well gals .. that's all from me for today.  Hope you had a wonderful happy day.

Skinny jeans, nude wedges, lace and a statement necklace

Statement Necklace

Today I rushed off to drop off a dress that my kitty had ripped and my 'bandage' skirt that was coming apart at Mom for mending.  When I got home I showered, dressed and then had two phone calls.  The day just slipped by in a blur.

I had no intention of doing much else outside the house today so I kept it rather casual.

THE DEETS :
Necklace : Truworths
T-shirt : Edgars
Jeans : Identity
Wedges : Fashion Express
Handbag : Gift from my sister Norma for Christmas
Bracelets : Contempo
Ring : Bought in 2005 in Germany

Snakeskin scarf

Capris and a scarf
Details : Shoes : Shoecity | Capris : Meltz | T-shirt : Makro | Scarf : Pick 'n Pay | Watch : Fossil

Nude wedges

This morning I decided that since my guys are going to site, I'd dress a little casual.  I choose my linen capris (Meltz) and the batwing-ish t-shirt (Legend @ Makro) and the scarf that my sister Lynn gave me as part of my Christmas present (Pick 'n Pay) and my trust nude wedges (ShoeCity) and my necklace that Taryn gifts me and for the life of me I can't remember where its from, but Charlie something rings a bell (its from State side) so please forgive me.  My watch is a Christmas gift to myself last December and its a Fossil and the ring came from a little tourist store in Graskop and was bought for me by Schatz last year.

We had the most awe inspiring storm last night.  When I was brushing my teeth, lighting came crackling through the sky and as I looked out the window down onto the Klipriver Drive and Bellairs intersection, it hit the lights and that led to sparks flying all over and the traffic lights then went dead.  It was scary and makes your heart beat faster ... poor little Marshy was rather flustered and Tequila was panting heavily and underfoot as she gets highly stressed with storms and fireworks.

Schatz said he was woken a few times after that by the power going out ... lucky for me, I slept through it.

This look is inspired in part by this picture off of Pinterest.  I have planned to replicate it again however, not with shorts but trousers.

Fuschia inspired (not intentionally though)

Shocking pink and purple ... matching my Fuschias
Skirt : Mr. Price
Top : Foschini
Shoes : Brand - Unreal | Store : Shoe City
Necklace and bracelet - Truworths
Ring : Mr. Price (a gift from my son Jarod)

The skirt worn peviously ... I see it was also with a tie-front t-shirt ... I think I'm quite liking the tie-front trend.

I feel pretty and blooming in these bright colours.  As I looked down at the Fuschia in the pot to my left, I realised I was wearing the same colours as my plant.  I absolutely adore Fuschias, to the point that I have about 12 plants in pots around my house (not as extreme as some people I know).  I am especially fond of doubles.  My love for them is spilling over onto my son Jarod who has two of his own that he looks after.

These shoes were bought to replace the pair I was wearing yesterday as driving had 'eaten' the area just above the heel.  I've now started wearing shoes just for driving ... I've messed up quite a few pairs of shoes and I'm not happy about that and I have no one to blame but myself.

How is your Christmas shopping going?  I first need to get Schatzies birthday present and my sister Normas ... and I have no idea what my children are wanting.  I know Jarod is saving for a Xbox and Courts was a push up bikini ... Liam - well he says he has everything he wants, at 12!

Whats on your Christmas wish list?

Mine looks something like this :
Nikon 70-200 mm lens
Cover my chair seat ... still needing to get it done.

Thats about it ... whats wrong with me? lol ... oh wait, nothing wrong, I'm just truly blessed.

Thanks for visiting and reading and commenting on my 'life' - I appreciate it.
