Blue peplum and a statement necklace

Oooh, looking serious while dodging the setting afternoon sun and keeping an eye on my lively photographer, Jarod.

Accessorize Necklace                                                                                                        Makro Shoes

WHEN:  October 3, 2013 : Thursday

THE MAIN ATTRACTIONS:
Peplum : Mr Price (Last season)
Skirt : Jet (Last season)
Necklace : Accessorize

THE BASICS :
Shoes : Makro

THE DAY PLAN : I had nothing beyond pc and studio work planned but really felt like dressing up a little more than usual.

THE VERDICT : Schatz liked this look a lot and said I looked classy ... I aim to please the man.  You may remember that I took his shock at the striped dress quite badly and was in fact surprised by his reaction ... today I got the total opposite, the only thing that may have surprised him more would have been a ball gown, or maybe a dominatrix outfit ;-).

Thankfully peplums are still on trend this season.  One of the things about living in the southern hemisphere and watching the styles in the North, is that you know if what's in your closet is still on trend by the time the season changes.

I only wore this peplum about two or three times last summer, but cannot seem to find a photo of myself in it, so I'm happy to get a bit more wear out of.  I decided to pair it with this black and white skirt of mine, which I also wore but a handful of times and that I love.

Here's to Happy Spring and Autumn days.

ITEMS SEEN PREVIOUSLY : Skirt worn previously here and here.

Red peplum on Houndstooth

This is a versatile skirt for the African climate ... at least for the milder winter days too (it just has to be shortened a little as this is not my favourite length).

I am picturing this with a blazer and boots ... denim shirt ... cable knit jersey and so much more ... no colour is out of bounds with Houndstooth ... The material is a lovely stretch knit and sooooooo comfortable I think I could take an afternoon nap in it.    Have a stunning Tuesday.

Leopard print with a red peplum

Truworths red peplum top
Leopard print skirt with a red peplum

Top : Truworths
Skirt : Mr. Price
Shoes : Legit
Watch : Diva

I love red ... you may have figured that out from the amount of red in my wardrobe but there was a time a year or two ago that it was almost impossible to find, so I'm just loving all the red in the stores.

I was so happy when I saw this little peplum in my favourite store - I've seen others with the same cut, however, the material was too 'soft'.  This is t-shirt material but not too soft.

I decided to keep things calm and wore my black pumps.  You can't see my earrings as they fade into my hair.

I also had my hair trimmed on Friday which I'm sure is barely noticeable.

Well, 9 days of work left for 2012 - yippee - and the last Monday too as next week is a four day week and Monday is a public holiday.

Have a stunning day and say Hi before you dash off.

I'm also linking up to Patti's Visible Monday over at Not Dead Yet Style.

Floral peplum with white 3/4 jeans ... on a Monday

Woolworths white denim capris

Floral peplum, with white capris and coral floral heeled wedges

Top : Fashion Express
Pants : Woolworths (R225.00)
Shoes : Meltz (ModaScapa) (R169.00 - bargain)
Bangles : Various
Earrings : Truworths

I feel fabulous in this outfit.  I have hummed and haaaed about buying white pants and finally decided to go for it.  Oh my, I'm so going back to Woolies for a few more pairs of these in other shades, they are super comfy and if you have hips like me, they fit so well over the area, not pulling or biting ... divine.  So all you curvy gals, get to woolies now and grab a pair.  You'll get your moneys worth of wear out of them over the summer and with Christmas, New Year, pool parties and braais on the way, they'll work for all the outings including dressing them up for work.

The shoes stole my heart on Saturday when I passed by Meltz.  We'd gone to buy Liam a desk and then stopped off for lunch, which took us past Meltz, so I had to go and have a look.  They had these shoes in Teal and Taupe as well but Schatz said I should go for these coral ones.  They're just such 'happy' shoes.  I am smitten.  My domestic worker squealed when she saw them ... I think it we wore the same size shoe she'd simply redistribute half my shoes to her closet.

I did some birthday present shopping yesterday and also some Christmas decorations shopping.  I need to add a few more items to my table centre piece and put a nail in the door to hang the wreath.  I am going to start getting the decorations out of storage and sorting through them.  I dont' think I 'need' to buy any more decorations, but the 'want' may take over.

So let me get started with the other needs of the day - hope your Monday is fabulous!

I'm joining up at Pattis Visible Monday over at Not Dead Yet Style as I really feel any but invisible in this outfit today.

Floral peplum

Details : Top : Fashion Express | Skirt : Truworths | Shoes : Legit | Watch : Tempo

I've been looking for another peplum top for a while. I've seen some here and there, but either the fabric was not quite right or the price was way too much. This weekend we headed off for the mall as Courteney had birthday she wanted to spend. I had a few errands to run myself, so we combined. We trawled the stores, her looking for what she had in mind and me looking for what I had in mind, namely a peplum top.
I eventually found this top in Fashion Express. I was initially not too sure about the loud floral print (or grannys curtain material as G-man calls these types of prints) but the colours really appeal to me. Part of me was nervous as I often think that floral can be ageing, but overall, I don't feel too old in this.  I'm hunting for a few more and think I need to head to Eastgate, Melrose Arch or Sandton in this effort.

Whats your thoughts on my outfit?  I must admit, I did feel great it this and give it about a 7/10, maybe even an 8.

Leave me your thoughts, I love hearing from you sweet bloggy people.

Peplum top with leopard print

 Details : Top : Mr. Price | Skirt : | Shoes : Footwork | Necklace : Truworths |
This top sits at just the right length ... I've been looking for more peplums, but am not keen on the think t-shirt material ones.    I also can't believe some of the prices being asked for a peplum top.

I was quite happy yesterday when Sharon and I popped out to Woolies at Killarney Mall, as after weeks of looking, I finally found a pair of black as well as a pair of leopard print flats.  At last!

I'm also thrilled to say that my sweet Betsy has arrived.  I have not taken her out as yet, but tomorrow promises to be the day.

Last night I did some tidying and arranging in my room as its becoming a little cluttered and I was feeling pretty overwhelmed by it.  I decided to let 8 handbags go.  I don't know what possessed me to go nuts on handbags because they're not my thing.  I like them, but find having to change from one to the other rather tedious ... even with a kangaroo purse organiser, it doesn't fit it all the bags.  Also, with my Betsy now being in my possession, I don't think I'll be changing too often.  I'll take a photo of her and I tomorrow.

That's my story for the day ... hope yours was great ... do drop me a note before you go.

Casual skinnies with a peplum on the weekend

Today we decided to finally go and visit Arts on Main ... I've been wanting to go there on the weekend after being taken there for lunch last year on Secretaries Day.

Finally, we went.  I saw some lovely items and came away with some cool ideas to make for the house.  There are a few items I'm considering returning for ... but I'll mull it over a little longer.

There was an interesting array of food on offer and many colourful characters about.  Schatz and I both love old buildings, so the architecture really appealed to us and we enjoyed the display that was on at Goethe on Main.

As you can see I'm desperately in need of a cut (the clipped up hair more that twice in a week is a big telltale sign).  My hairdresser has been on leave the past week, so I can't wait to see her this week.  I'm now wondering what to do with it ...maybe something like this

or ... ?? not sure, but I'll come up with something, worst case, I'll just get it trimmed.  But in the back of my mind, I seem to stuck on a style go round.  Suggestions?

Hope your weekend was fabulous!

I popped into Mr. Price yesterday and found this peplum top for all of R60 and the skirt for R90.  What a bargain.  I've been on the lookout for a well priced peplum top so I was thrilled at the price. The material is also fab and the nude colour will allow me to style it with many colours.

Whats your find of the week?

Happy fashion Friday.
