Freezing on Thursday

Am I ever thankful that I don't rely on public transport!!  Today was cold and I'm pretty spoilt because I walk out our back door and take about 10 steps into the garage where my little chorrie is parked, then drive to work and park in the basement, right at the door to the lift access and really don't deal with much wind factors or such.  It's on days like today that I'm grateful that I don't have to brave the elements on a daily basis.

This evening though, sitting here at my pc, my little fingers are freeeeeeezing, so I'm doing this post quickly, then I'm going to hit the shower, put out the clothes for tomorrow and then crawl under the covers and read through some more of my notes for next weeks exam.

Mama's new shades

Last week I went for my eye check up and got myself some new frames.  For the first time, I also got 'label' shades but they have my script inserted in the lens.  G-man says I look like the girl who got scared to go with the huge frames in style ... sigh, he really knows how to make me feel so good at times.

This morning saw Jarod and I heading to buy him some cheap pants to take on school camp next week.  They said the kids are to take 5 changes of clothes and Jarod only had about 2 that I consider disposable so I went and got him 3 pairs of jeans that cost R40.00 each, cheap and not a big issue if they end up in the bin.

Then we came home and I was busy on my pc when my phone rang and the optometrists said my glasses were ready for collection along with the shades.

This is also the first time I've ever worn black and brown together.

March 23 - Black 'n white is always right

I rode into work on the steel stead with G-man, as my car went in for them to sort out creaking window winder and figure out the 'clucking' sound in the back door.  My CC had to sleep over - I hope she's warm and safe.

My hair handled the helmet fairly well and my fringe (bang) behaved.  I REALLY REALLY need to get it cut now.  I also really really need to stop stalling about it, along with visiting the dentist and colouring my hair.

March 14 - Black again on Monday

Dang - this morning I had intended to wear my pink satin shift dress, but when I put it on, it had a strange mark in the most embarassing spot despite having been washed and ironed, so I don't quite know where it came from, so I had to put aside my intention of wearing it with my little denim jacket and throw another outfit together.

On top of that little problem, my hair styler seems to have blown it's last bit of air and I had to take my DD to the doctor, she has flu, and then, it took me an hour and 45 minutes to drive 10kms!!  The rain and an accident caused all kinds of chaos on the roads in Jo'burg. 

Pressed for time though this morning after my outfit mishap, I turned to my faithful black trousers.  The thing I love about black trousers is that they're always good to go.

February 9th - Rather severe looking

Today I decided to wear a shirt I asked opinions on back in December around whether or not to keep or toss and thought I should wear it, since I decided to keep it ...

I think I look rather severe, but am not going to harp on about how dissatisfied I am with my pictures - although these I took before work for a change as I left a little later this morning as I needed to stop and pay school fees for the boys and their office only opens at 07:30.

 I used the curling iron on my hair and as can be seen, its not quite the look for me ... lol ... but at least I tried ;-)

The details ... shirt is from Pick 'n Pay (kinda like WalMart here), trousers and blazer - Truworths, shoes Edgars, Necklace - Woolworths, belt - Meltz ... the suns was so bright the belt is barely visible.

This evening I had dinner with my sisters and we were laughing ourselves silly.  Some of our dinners are rather strained and then others, we share and laugh and just have a jolly ol' time ... everyone is dealing with their own things and it's just great that we get to connect once a month.  We've been doing these dinners for two years now and I think we only skipped one month - it's our once a month chance to get together without spouses/partners and children.

One of my sisters is in a divorce, one is dealing with the imminent emmigration of her child, one is having issues and challenges with her child ... I'm dealing with a whole bunch of stuff, but we share a little, laugh a little and for just two hours, we get to connect and it's good, because we did not do this before and before before, I lived abroad ... and now we're older and wiser and calmer and less self-centered and it's just great.

Life sure is short and things change so quickly ... on that note ... connect, make the call, make the time, go pay the visit ... you can spare an hour or two once a month!

February 2nd

Today's look is all remixed ... I have only worn this 'cardigan' once before on the blog way back in September last year, I think, and that was with cream pants and I did not belt it.  Of course, the black pants have been seen a gazillion times and worn even more than that - it's a tried and tested basic for me.

It was great to get home and not have to do any cooking last night ... G-man had stayed home and gone to the doctor and was diagnosed with flu (poor baby) and he got dinner ready.  So I had a lazy late afternoon.

The cami is from Jay-Jays, the cardigan from 'Edgars', the pants "Finnigans at Truworths' as well as the shoes, belt - I think 'Edgars'.

Necklaces, earrings and bracelet all seen repeatedly ... I think they're my favourites at the moment.

I have been researching a replacement camera and am stuck between the Nikon D3100 and D90.  Decisions, decisions, decisions!

January 10th - back to work

It's Monday again and almost feels as though the work year has only started, guess in all honesty it only has.  The team were back, although out to meetings and then we had no power for 3 hours - just crazy and made the day ueber boring.

This afternoon we rushed off to the Glen to buy school shoes and get Jarod's tv sorted out.  I'm happy it's now done and he's happy he has it.  G-man needs to mount the wall bracket and then it's totally sorted.  I'm happy he managed to save the money for it, even though we had to take his bank card and cash away from him.  Liam was even offering him money today - I think he really wanted his brother to get his tv.

I'm so tired!  Back at work and not having much to do really exhausted me ... I'm off to shower and find something to wear to work tomorrow.

December 12 - Monday in Black

So, I'm fairly sure that last Monday I commented about 'not' wearing black on a Monday and today I go and wear black ... but I added red ;-).  I woke to a real grey and miserable day here in Jozi and added to that it was real chilly - so much so that I had my heater on in my office for part of the morning - how insane is that when we're basically in the middle of summer here in the southern hemisphere?

 By the time I left the office after work though the sun was out in force and I was needing to shed the jacked by the time I got in the house.

It's only two days of work left, then Thursday is a public holiday and then it's H.O.L.I.D.A.Y.  I'm like a donkey on the edge at the moment, a wee bit short tempered and irritable (don't mention mother nature to me, I may strangle her right about now) and so ready for this break.

The little people still don't know that we're heading to the coast, but I have a sneaky feeling that they're suspicious ... I just hope they like the surprise.

I've been M.I.A and it's been busy and crazy and the ADSL or the modem at home have been on the blink, but it's finally fixed so I can catch up on the last couple days that I missed.

II fell head-over-heels (ha ha) in love with these shoes.

A rather basic outfit from last week and no updates since then, just been crazy busy with life and such things.

But of course, it's my fave trousers and shoes and the cardigan was such a bargain, marked down from R539- to R99 - although I did discover when ironing it that there is a hole on the one side, it's totally mendable.

October 26 - Hmmm

I'm feeling as though my groove is a little off ... I was attacked by what I think was a spider over the weekend and bitten on my face, it's itchy and sore :-(.

Then today I was ueber bloated ... and since it's not 'that time' I'm really confused by this.
As you can see if you look real close, I barely have a waist and my little guy blushed bright red when I looked down at dinner and said 'looking down from here I look pregnant'.  He's so cute and I really wonder what he was thinking.
I've also been having flu like symptons and feeling really tired, along with having a document from hell to try and fix at work and I have been fighting it for two days now. 
But, I'm surviving.

Just look at my missing wait :/)  I wonder who stole it??!! lol
