FABruary Style Challeng : Day 11 : Flowers

Flowering beauties for my ears
I'm a little behind on the Style Challenge and yesterday did not move out of my house, much less put on makeup, style the hair or even think about the challenge.  It was my 'beauty' morning and then I took it easy for most of the day.  For the 'flower' challenge, I decided to wear flowers in my ears.

Despite trying not to wear black on Mondays, since we had clients coming in, I decided to show off my new LBD.  I saw it on the Truworths sale (don't say that too loud now) and just loved the scooped neckline. At almost 50%, I felt it was a bargain I could not pass up.  I do so wish the wind would just behave while we take my pics in the morning and not mess up my hair so quickly.

Tuesdays LBD

LBD - Little black shift dress
Dress : Jet
Shoes : Truworths
Belt : EdgarsBangles & earrings :Mildays
Ring : Truworths

At 6:30 this morning I was already feeling the heat.  It could just be that I'd heard it is going to reach 32 Celcius that made me feel like I was already in the oven, but I changed three times because each outfit I put on made me feel hotter than the one before.  So I decide to just keep it simple and go with my LBD.

Luckily our aircons are behaving thus far today and we're not roasting.

Hope your Tuesday is marvellous.

The LBD and a haircut

This morning I decided to wear my LBD ... it hasn't made an appearance for a while. I kept it simple and sleek with my little 'lace' blazer and of course, I love wearing my Eiffel Tower pendant with this dress. In fact, I'd wear this necklace more often if it 'went' with everything.

Ooops, Schatz didn't tell me my fringe was messed up :-(

This morning my hair looked a lot less fancy - it was clipped up with a messy fringe. I tried most of the morning to get a hold of my hairdresser and was not expecting her to be able to see me this afternoon, but she was available, so I dashed off after work to get my hair cut. I could not find the pictures I'd seen on the web, so we discussed a little and came up with this style which is similar to what I'd seen and to what I'd had before. An angled layered bob with quite a bit of chopping.
When I got home the family were full of compliments and all said they like it. I'm happy with it - what do you think?

Chanel inspired ... and wearing the Eiffel Tower

As promised earlier, here is my little jacket I purchased at Mr. Price.  My dress is the LBD I had altered a few weeks back.  It fits perfectly now and I can't believe I waited so long to take it in for alterations.

Do you use or create dream/vision/inspiration boards?

When I first heard about them, I thought it was 'way out there'.  Then I read about it, heard about them from more and more people and my curiosity grew.  As a team building exercise while I was still at the bank, our manager arranged for us to do a session with the Fairy Godmother.  It was interesting to say the least.

I eventually lost the original dream board, but created a more portable one on a pinboard.  Its amazing to look back and see what has manifested over a period of time.  I now use one regularly to keep my dreams/hopes/desires in focus.

This Eiffel Tower pendant is along those lines.  I'm eager to re-visit Paris and when I saw this pendant, I felt it would be a portable part of the dream board.

Autumn Wardrobe

This morning the air temp was a serious reminder that Autumn has arrived!  For me it seems a little late, but I'm not complaining.  My kitty has been snuggling up closer and closer which is a telltale sign that the cooler weather is settling in.

I've been looking at the size of my wardrobe and wondering if I really need to add anything at all.  The styles are mostly a continuation of last seasons styles and since autumn to winter is such a minimal change, most of what I wear now I'll wear all the way through.

Besides a pair of red 'cigarette leg' jeans, red blazer, black riding boots, tan leather jacket, denim jacket and a chanel style jacket, I can't think of anything else I need.  Of course, the wants never go away.  There were the gorgeous brown riding boots at Woolies and the red ruched dress, the tweed blazer at Edgars, the cream trench at Truworths ... and ... and.

All for women featured some coats from Foschini on their newsletter this morning.  I must admit, my coats are still in awesome shape, so no needs on that front.

cropped jackets, Foschini
Houndstooth and tweed - two great styles for winter. Love these cropped jackets, R470 and R460 each.
I bought a similar cropped jacket to the black and white one from Mr Price at the princely price of R130.00.  It's a three-quarter sleeve and looks more tweedish and I'm wearing it today, along with my altered LBD.

I should be back later with a photo update.

Hope your Monday on Tuesday is great.

Keep it Simply Sassy
