Black on Monday!

Its not my fault - y'all know about my attempt at not wearing black on Mondays, but since we were asked to due to a Road show at work, I did.

We were also given Corporate shirts to wear for today, which I'm not the biggest fan of.  I tried a few different ways to wear it.  I tried a few different belts, first a black, then a grey, then a leopard print and they looked odd.  I then threw the idea out the window as I was running out of time and I really should have tried it on yesterday.
Skirt : Truworths | Shirt : Corporate wear | Shoes : Rage
It was interesting to see how the different women at the office styled theirs.  I'd have loved a picture of each of them with the shirt one - one wore it unbuttoned with a tank top underneath and an animal print scarf - another wore it belted and the different accessories had different effects ... it was interesting.
Necklace : Justine cosmetics | Ring : Truworths | Bangles : Various
But what really fascinated me even more than the different ways the ladies styled their shirts, was the number of people who did not wash and iron the shirt before wearing them.  I found that really odd.

The basic black pencil skirt

Black pencil skirt, blazer and accessorized with red.

Earrings : Foschini
Belt : from a Chinese store (no brand)
Cami : Woolworths (as old as the hills)
Skirt : Truworths
Blazer : Contempo
Fresh water pearls : NWJ (Natal Wholesale Jewelers)
Watch : Lanco

And so it is Tuesday ... I battled again to get out of bed.  But its my own fault as I jinxed myself by falling into a deep sleep on the couch last nite when I should just have gone directly to bed.  So at 23:00 I went up to bed, but after washing my face and brushing my teeth I was ready for the day to begin and battled to get to sleep.  The last time I check the time it said 00:44!

Today we have clients visiting and I thought I'd do an office appropriate look, partly to get myself into the mood for the second last Tuesday of the working year for me and partly because I'm feeling rather un-creative (is that a word).

My cami is lovely and I adore the lace strip over the top, it adds just a little bit of 'sexy' under the blazer.   I want to scout Woolworths and see if they by any small chance have the same style in stock.  They tend to keep styles for a lot longer than other stores.  This cami is looking a little washed out now and I wear it so often I really should invest in another one.

Another day with red making an appearance in my belt which was a birthday gift last year from a friend at work and my red multi-toned heels.  I think I could have worn more of a statement necklace, but had run out of time and since my pearls were out, I grabbed them as I dashed out.

So whats the verdict - hit or miss?

Simple black and white, with a pop of colour

Classic and easy, black and white
Skirt : Truworths
Shirt : Woolworths
Shoes : Truworths
Necklace : Truworths
Bracelets : Sass Diva

This morning I woke up feeling as though I am hung over ... from what I have no idea.  So my outfit needed to be simple ... you don't get more simple than this in my opinion unless you are naked.

The blue is just to break the monotony of the black and white.

Not a terribly inpired look.

Hope your Tuesday is awesome.

Visible Monday Magic

Something old something new ... something black something red.

There is so much red in the stores right now that my heart is set alight.  Yet I've still not found my red blazer, but must admit I have not made it through to Sandton to check out Zara's red blazer.

Red is my most favourite colour in the world.  Its so alive, dangerous, mysterious, strong, vibrant ... I simply love it.  You know my car is even red ... at long last, I got a red car.  It took a few years ... lol.

I bought the shirt about two months ago at Edgars. When I saw it, I simply had to have it. I am especially fond of the black piping on it.

Things I liked about my look and made it 'Visible' are the crochet effect on the t-shirt and black piping on my shirt ... therefore, I'm excited to link to be able to link to Patti at Not Dead Yet Styles Visible Monday for a change.
