Denim on denim

The coolest, hippest, sweetest, funkiest, most lovable 13 year old in the universe!!

Denim shirt on denim skirt
 WHEN:  October 3, 2013 : Wednesday

THE MAIN ATTRACTIONS:
Denim on Denim
Shirt : CCI
Skirt : Fashion Express
Necklace : Sass Diva

THE BASICS :
Wedges : Meltz

THE DAY PLAN : I started my day with the gym and then finally completed my Module 3 and submitted it
 - awaiting my result with bated breath.
When I got up yesterday morning, I was not sure I wanted to go to gym.  I kinda debated it with myself in my head and then decided to go because I knew I feel much better after I've been.  I then decided to tick off another item on my October Action List and try something new at gym.  My something new was a Rebounding class.  I saw it in action for a few minutes last week and thought it would be fun.  Well it was fun and I laughed a lot because I was simply unable to get the co ordination right to do some of the exercises, but I enjoyed it immensely and I if my schedule allows, I shall be doing it again next week.  I must say - 'my alles is seer' (my everything is sore).
 just do it
Some info about Rebounding in the link above :

NASA research found rebounding to be 68% more efficient than running on a treadmill!

Just 2 minutes of rebounding offers equivalent physiological benefits as: 6 minutes of running -  10 minutes of swimming and 22 minutes of walking!

In just 2 minutes of rebounding – the entire lymphatic system is flushed out and the white blood cell count nearly triples, providing a greater defence system to destroy cancer cells.

It was our monthly sistas dinner last night and yet again we went to Casa Rossi.  Norma was curious to see how it would be after the previous manager had left.

Sadly, except that the food was up to its usual standard, the rest of it was disappointing.  The restaurant was very empty and had no atmosphere.  The music was insipid.  The service was slow.

THE VERDICT : I don't believe I've ever worn denim on denim in my adult life, or at least, not that I can remember.    In my head I clearly see the pictures of Brittney and Justine in their matching denim on denim look and it kinda makes me cringe and hope I don't look as bad.  Will look back on this in a month or two and possibly shudder.  Not sure I'm wild about it, but today I thought I'd give it a try.

Things on a Thursday

So yesterday I went off to see Magnificent Health for a live blood analysis and did not get to the gym.  It was interesting and the diagnosis is that my system is under strain and weak which is one of the reasons why I often have flu type symptons.  I also have a lot of acid and some other nasties floating about which we need to take care of.

I did not get to have the acupuncture treatments done as will go back in two weeks for a check up and then have the treatment done.  However, the one product I was recommended to take as a meal and snack replacement is beyond yuck!  I don't know if I'll be able to swallow it again today.  I also got two sets of tables, AdvaClear and Oxy Release that I'm taking.  Those are fine - those I can do, but the drink.  No sireee.

blood samples compared
Healthy blood cells
It was interesting to see my blood under the microscope.  Where healthy blood cells are round in shape and bounce off of each other, mine were flattish and chugging along and looked like long worms mostly like the picture on the left.  In between them she pointed out the acidity and other nasties dashing around.  Since I'm wanting to feel better and get healthier, so I'll do my best to push on with it and the horrid drink.  I do hope that when I return she says I can omit the drink from my daily routine or at least replace it something a little more tolerable.

Yesterday I did not visit the gym due to the appointment, so this morning I headed on up and dropped my car off at the carwash.  Although my scale is barely moving at this point, I must admit that I'm feeling a little more toned.  My tummy is jiggling less each week which thrills me.

Today I hit the treadmill for 10 minutes, then hit up the machines and did shoulder presses, Abdominal crunches, Bicep curls, Chest press, Back extensions and then finishes off with 10 minutes on the bicycle.  My biceps and buttocks muscles are speaking to me and complaining a little.

Now I'm off to battle on with my module as I took the photos for my zone ruler, but the first set is not correct, so its back to the grey card and camera for me after I finally get showered.

Hope you have a wonderful day.

Keeping up with the gym

I had promised myself in one form or fashion that I'd do my best to keep up with the visits to the gym.  So today, despite feeling really tired and uninspired, I hauled myself off to gym for a quick visit.  At first I thought I'd just do 15 minutes on the treadmill, but I added in four leg machines as well, which makes me pretty chuffed that I did more than I had intended.  I know once I'm there I usually do more than I initially anticipated doing.   My legs are feeling a little bit achy this evening which is another good sign.

We did quite a bit of walking while down on the coast which helped in that I did not do nothing and become super lazy.  I also found that I went up the hills with ease, whereas before I'd have taken some strain after 20 metres and been battling to keep my breath even.  All these little visits, they all adding up.

Now all I need to do is get back onto the Weigh Less eating plan and I should see those lumps 'n bumps start melting away.

I had considered hitting the pool this morning and I should have thought of that yesterday for Jarod when he had nothing to wear so opted out of visiting the gym.  It would be a nice change - hmmm I wonder where the swimming cap I bought is?

Happy day.

Getting the week off right

Gym goal for the week : 3 visits

Monday : Done and dusted.  I did the much the same as last Monday which was hitting the treadmill, but I added 1000m row ... hmmm, me thinks the shoulders may complain a little.  Not overly exerted, but guys, its more than I did the entire year.

I was also thrilled to find that I earn 150 Vitality point for each visit to the gym.  I was a little peeved as when I mentioned it to one of the ladies at the reception previously, she did not listen to me and I have lost 750 points in total.  But after visiting the Discovery site yesterday to see my progress and point status, I decided that today I'd take my card out and find someone to answer my questions and thankfully the young man on reception was in the know.

Go me on Monday : I also hopped on the scale when I got to the gym and I've lost 500g.  (This is weight with my clothes and shoes one so its almost a kg more than what my home scale says).  Its moving slowly in the right direction after having gone up and up over the last 2.5 months.

Hope your day was fabulous.

Weigh Less Wendy

Where  Glenvista Fitness

When   September 11, 2013

Time     07:15

I hit the gym again this morning and did the above routine.  I decided to hit the treadmill for a 'fat burn workout' and concentrated on my legs today.  I'm wondering how sore its going to be tomorrow morning.  I'm stoked that I got off my butt and have been to the gym twice this week and for achieving my goal for the week of two visits a week as per this post.. No promises, but I am scheduling in my mind a visit on Friday where I'll work arms.

Besides getting an email off to Anabela, its the only other thing on my List of Intentions I've achieved, but then, we have a good few days still to go in this month.

Tonight is our monthly Sistas Dinner.  I'm looking forward to seeing my sisters and catching up on their news.  I'm considering suggesting a monthly sisters get together on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon to scrapbook.  I have tons of scrapbooking products and just never get around to scrapbooking, maybe I should throw the idea onto the table this evening and see what comes out of it.  I haven't scrapbooked in almost two years now, but often still buy goodies.  I sometimes think I'll just put it all up for sale - but my heart just won't allow me to.

So now its time to hit the shower and get the day going.  I have lots I intend doing today - and its almost 09:00.

Hope your day is fabulous.

Monday morning magic ...

A photographic view of my morning ....

September Intentions

It's Monday morning at 07:07 and I'm dressed for gym and about to head on out.  I haven't been in 6 weeks so I'm going to have to take it slow, but before I head out the door and September flies by, I want to set down my intentions for the month  :
  1. Send out my flier
  2. Arrange delivery to Anabela
  3. Get two more modules completed of my course
  4. Complete Liams' High School Admission form
  5. Remember to wish all the birthday babies of this month
  6. Get a pedicure ... its open toe shoe season, got to have them tootsies looking good
  7. Get to the gym at least twice a week
  8. Get the stones in the half round bed cleaned up
  9. Clear out my inbox ... I have a ridiculous amount of emails in my box
  10. Enjoy family time
  11. Have some fun
  12. See somewhere new
  13. Practise practise and practise some more with the camera
  14. Trim the Yakkas
  15. Sort out my shoes ... with Spring here, its time to Flylady them
  16. Get the winter woollies washed and sorted and ready for next season
  17. Generally I don't Spring clean - but I do need to get the carpets shampooed
  18. Keep working at sorting out my ancient photos
  19. Print the photo for the frame in the lounge (find it first which goes with number 16).
  20. Get more Elements practise time in.
Anything you have planned?
We had a fabulous weekend.  Friday we had my nephew Connor stay over and he also spent Saturday with us.  Liam had his friends over for a late birthday get together - I love seeing boys being boys ... shooting guns ... playing football ... and eating pizza.  They had a great time and were all relaxed and laughing.  He then went off to spend the evening at his friend Richard.
As the Chairman of The Toy Run Event my Schatz has to show his face at certain events and Sunday was one of those and for him a big day as its the first time he took his 'old-new' bike out on the road and he said he had fun, but there are still some issues on it that need to be resolved.  For four months I have not had much biking stress in my life and I forgot how anxious I get when he's out on the road.

Did you notice my new header?  I needed some colour and something that said Spring to me when I visit here so yesterday I quickly made it for myself. I'm pretty happy with it.  What's your thoughts on it?
Hope your Monday is off to a rocking start ... let "go M.A.D."

No excuses?

Being very close to fifty I have, much to my surprise found my body changing quicker than I could ever have imagined and me feeling like a race house stuck in the starting stalk unable to catch up with the changes.
Last week I got home feeling horrid and commented to Courteney that I felt awfully chubby and that the skirt I  was wearing used to hang loosely on my hips, but is now fitted in my waist.   She kindly said I should try getting to gym and hit the treadmill even if only once a month ... right there and then I told her I was going to gym and she chose to come with.
I did a session on the treadmill,  followed by leg, stomach and an arm workout.   I felt better about me but I know it is going to take a lot more to get into the shape I dream of.
If I don't do the work, I'm not going to get any results and I'm a little tired of making excuses to myself.
Sadly, on Friday I was given 30 days notice at work.  With the economy in the state it is and the mining sector under particular strain, contractors are being let go in order for permanent staff to keep their positions.  This is going to be a big challenge for me and I'll need to keep H.A.L.T. in mind.
Hope your weekend was fabulous.
