Happy Mother's Day

To all the Mom's, all over the world, and the Dad's who are raising their children and doing the Mom job - I hope your day was wonderfully blessed.

Mine was spent .... in my pj's!!!  Yes, that's the honest truth.  I only showered around 19:00.  I did not move further than the washing line today.  I don't think I even brushed my hair ... gasp in horror.

Liam gave me breakfast in bed (and can you believe it,  not one photo was taken today), then Jarod made me coffee later and they gave me homemade cards.  Courteney got home around 12:00 and she had bought me a gorgeous necklace.

Taryn called late this afternoon and that just had me in tears.  Darn, I miss her so much and so many things just aren't the same without her :-(.  How much longer until this feels normal?  How is it going to be when 'the bean' leaves?  I think I'm almost in a state of denial, I don't want to imagine it.  I'm scared in more ways than I care to admit.  I think I may have to rent a daughter.

Anyways, I spoke with my sister earlier as I could  not remember the name 'pagemaps'.  I asked if she'd one any scrapping today to which she replied no, then she asked me if I had, to which I replied no, but that kinda woke the 'want' up.  Since I do have photos that I printed sitting on my desk, I thought I'd start a page.  It's almost done - it's a layout of the first day of school and will go in Jarod's album.  Almost done and I'm feeling pretty chuffed with myself - it's taken about 45 minutes compared to my usual three days ... lol.

So now, I'm going to quickly finish up and get my hiney down to bed.

Enjoy the rest of your Mother's day.

'Til next time ...
be fabulous, be stylish, be awesome ....... be creative!

Scrapbooking

I'm working on Jarod's page of the 'Bathtime Buddies' photos that are all the way from 2002, when their Dad and I were very married (I believe) and battling through the craziness of life in Germany and the possibility of moving State side.  But, there are times where I find working with the photos so hard and heartbreaking ... I didn't expect to be divorced, living in Africa and my children not growing up with their Dad.

Anyways, yesterday I went and got a bunch of photos printed because I still have not sorted my photo printer out, but it was quick and easy but a new experience, because I'm used to printing photos as I want, instead of having to decide before I walk out the door.

Well, Happy Easter - hope your day is fabulous blessed.

More scrapbooking ... weekend

So firstly, when I got home on Friday, our phone line and ADSL were out and as at 06:45 this morning, they were still not working.  I also forgot the reference number at home, so I'm unable to hound them :-( however, that meant no internet facebooking, blogging or any such fun thing the W.H.O.L E. W.E.E.K.E.N.D!!!

Missy arrived home on Friday afternoon and when I collected her, her face, as usual of late, looked like a thunderstorm brewing.  I am at my wits ends ... honestly and truly.  I wonder in all honesty how much longer before the medication kicks in ... 3 weeks and counting and praying for patience.

Much of a muchness compared to most other weekends, with disappointing Friday night food at the Thaicipan, but divine Indian Pancakes at the Bryanston Organic Market ... Liam had a friend over, Jarod slept at my sister and we got a little time alone on Sunday as the kids were out to their Gran.

But the weekend seems to disappear so quickly and no matter how well you plan it, the hours seem like minutes!

I did finish off some pages that have been lying around for ages ... the Quading just needed the journaling done and the 'Just for fun' photos had been matted and I happened upon them in a folder that I'd taken out of a box I reused last weekend and when I saw them last night, I decided to just 'get it done' and I'm glad I did.  It may well turn into a double page layout in the future.

So it's Monday and we can look forward to a long weekend this weekend ... yippeee ... the possibility of more scrapbooking is lighting the end of the tunnel.

Ciao, 'til next time

I scrapbooked ... finally

I've been saying for two years now that I need to get going on my scrapbooking and after three attempts at these pictures in the last couple months, I finally got them done on Saturday.  I'm happy I finally got started - maybe now my scrap-mojo will start to make it's way back to me.  Between the relationship, house move and all the other bits that make up my life, it was challenging to get my head straight.

I'm not an elaborate scrapper and find a lot the latest styles overbearing, almost biggie best-ish and don't like having to hunt out the photo.  I'd say Cathy Zielske and Becky Higgins are my inspiration and scrap-style icons.

You may notice that the second page is off centre - it was not intentional, but I used the border from the first page and had not centre the pattern when I cut it.  But, since I try to veer clear of perfectionism, I am going to keep this as it is.

Next on my 'Scrapbook To do List'?  Boy oh boy, there are thousands of photos to choose from, but I'm going to attempt to get this little guys school album updated.  Only three years of school pictures and first day of year and it will be up to date.  I need, for my sanity, to get one album up to date and since his school album is all of 5 years, it's manageable, and his Grade 0 photos are done too.

'Til later - have a fabulous day.
