The school my boys attend has a Dads 'n Lads group and they arranged an outing via the Gautrain to Sandon City.  Their intention was to see a movie once there.  Once at Rhodesfield station, we proceeded to head to the platform after purchasing our tickets and once upstairs, it was a short wait until the train arrived, however, the rest of the group were nowhere to be seen.  So, our little family decided to hop on board and ride the train to Sandton.

Once we arrived in Sandton, we headed to Sandton Square and stopped at a restaurant for a breakfast buffet.  The rest of the group arrived while we were eating and headed on to the  movies.  The only person interested in seeing a movie was Liam, so he was outvoted and we decided to look around a few stores.  I had every intention of visiting Zara.  I found it and browsed about with Courteney.  There some pretty items, however, I found nothing that I coud not live without :-(.  I did however buy a pair of shoes at Rage on sale for a whole R150,00 ... awesome saving.

We then stopped at Haagen Daas and after that headed to the station.  It was fun outing.  The differences for me between the Gautrain and the S-Bahn we rode in Germany were few.  The overall experience so much the same I kept expecting to hear a German voice over the pa.

Hope your weekend was fabulous ... heres to a wonderful week and hopefully I'll steer clear of the black ... since I'm sure I wore black everyday last week.

  4. The Gautrain is really beautiful and it also reminded me of our trips on the train with you guys in Germany. Glad you had a good outing and the Haagen Das was a perfect "cherry on top"!!!
