What is not

To conquer fear is the beginning of wisdom.
Bertrand Russell

There are days, where from deep inside, a wish bubbles up saying
"I wish I did not feel the need to be so independent".

I wish I was able to go to another in confidence and say help me.  But images of the past come to mind and I'm left feeling helpless and lost.  It's sad.

I wish it could change, but my fears keep me independent.

  1. I think it's so interesting and perceptive that you have recognized it is fear that keeps us independent of one another, and not bravery. I think very often, esp. in this culture, people EQUATE fearlessness with independence. But I believe you are correct, and that the truth is quite the opposite. It's a hard thing to trust someone enough to be vulnerable and honest.
