A little pep talk ... Am I good enough?

Note pad sent to me by Miz T.
With all this 'free time' on my hands, I've been trying to catch on my  up  'Stuff I should do if I gave a @%*#!" list which has things on it like tidy out the scrapbooking cupboard, repack the linen closet, find out how to repot my Orchids and one of the never ending items on my list is, clear out magazines.  I keep promising myself I'm going to stay away from them, but their tantalising promises of how to get as thin as Twiggy in a day or two or, make a bazillion bucks in the blink of an eye and, how to be perfect at being perfect and their perfectly air-brushed celebrities on their covers always suck me in.  However, since the news of the retrenchment, I've only bought two magazines and one of them is NPhoto, the Nikon Photography Magazine which I view as an investment in my ongoing photographical education and not another Ronnie bin filler (insert huge cheesy impressed with self grin).

While looking through the November 2011 edition (see how long I keep them for - Flylady would not be too pleased) of Women and Home Magazine with Molly Sims on the cover, who is just so ditzily cute, there was a one page about Annie Lennox and a comment she made jumped out at me which said:

"Women are extraordinary but we've never been taught to fully value ourselves.
There are so many things we can do if we grasp the nettle and just do it.
All you need is the power and the strength of belief in yourself.
We have to stop thinking, "Is my bum too big?" "Am I good enough?"
Love yourself.
Do what you believe you can do, don't let the doubters, the mockers and the putter-downers stop you."

I think this is just what we all need to hear and be reminded of everyday.  We should print this out and pin it on our mirror, pc screen or even our car dashboard, wherever you're going to see it daily - make it bright, make it noticeable and change the design weekly if you need to (cause you know we start to see past things like the hole in the wall after a while), to remind yourself and your sistas and daughters and girlfriends that :

You are good enough!
You can do it!
Keep working at it!
Don't stop dreaming!  Lets start thinking out of the box.

Lets start being each others champions and :

Lets stop competing with each other and lets start supporting each other.
Lets talk positivity into each others lives.
Lets be the wind beneath each others wings.

I'll be your marketing agent and cheerleader and all I'm asking in return is that you be mine.

Happy day
Wendy
