Did you have a good, Good Friday? Mine has been great. I was woken at 3:30 when my Schatz went out on patrol with the CPF - even though he tried not to wake me, the little commotion in the house had my eyes wide open, for all of 2 minutes and then I descended back into decadent slumber knowing that I could sleep as late as I wish ... until my alarm rang at 5am. Schatz came back from his patrol and snuggled back down under the covers ... and there I stayed until well after 8.
My day consisted of puttering around getting all kinds of little jobs done - I cleared a box of 'stuff' from the study area, have almost cleared my desk, photographed some items for future use on the blog, read blogs, picked tomatoes, pulled out some dead marigolds, cleared emails, hung a picture and pondered what else to do in the little reading nook I'm creating in a space in my bedroom as shown in the picture below. Washed one of my winter coats (5 more to go) checked through my boots and decided to let three pairs go. The heels of the rest look good, so they can be moved upstairs to my dressing area. I also convinced the boys to start sanding and painting my hearts in chalkboard paint.
I've had to keep my chair that we renovated and reupholstered covered with a towel to prevent the cats from clawing it. I hung the picture of the Eiffel Tower at last! It has stood around since we hung the mirrors as a headboard - but this area is in the midst of a makeover. I want to move the lamp, which I've had for about 14 years and needs a new little thingie that holds the lamp in place, into the study area and move an ancient box that belonged to my grandmother and looks like the boxes that were up front in the ox-wagons, upstairs which is currently hidden under the staircase. I'm considering what colours to paint the room but am undecided at present. This wall I'd like to paint in a pale grey but its the wall to the left which is behind my bed that I'm battling to make up my mind about. The accent colours in our room are pink, lilac and purple. We also need to put the skirtings in, but they've been kept in the garage for 3+ years and I'm losing hope of them ever being installed.
Courteney and I went for a 30 minute walk this afternoon. I had been busy up in my room and went to look out the window and thought of the comment Ally left on my previous post where I asked for inspiration, and decided there and then to go for a little walk for just 30 minutes. We didn't walk very far, but we walked at a fair pace for the entire time and also went up the hill, which is killer on unfit thighs.
I still have a lot on my 'to do list' but am happy with the progress I made today.
Tomorrow I'd like to :
Move my box upstairs and style it.
Print pictures for the still empty frames in the lounge.
Post a box to someone special.
Gather items to create a Fall centre piece using this picture as inspiration ... my vase is round though.
Drop items at the SPCA on the way to drop my Mom off at the casino.
Take my car for a wash.
Wash the rest of my winter jackets and coats.
Edit photographs.
Work on blog design.
That's all for the moment folks ... now I'm off to enjoy an edition of Elementary.
'Til we chat again .. hope you're having a fabulous weekend.
