Despite having a really difficult time getting out of bed I did decide to haul my lazy hiney off to gym ... at last. We signed up about 3 weeks ago and this is the first time I went. I did a few minutes on the treadmill, some hamstring, ab and shoulder exercises and then basically just looked around with the kids. I really did not want to go crazy and make it impossible to move tomorrow.
I then went to the Salon and booked a treatment for Tuesday. It's a heat wrap of sorts and then I'll book a lumpy-bump treatment for Thursday. Tomorrow I may go for flowtron treatment in the hopes of it helping with the weird headache I've had for over a week. The therapist said its helps for stress and migraines as well as with broken veins.
I want to be a little trimmer and firmer by the time springs rolls around ... and I only have a month. However, I'm not putting tons of pressure on myself, but I sure do want to wear my cute white lace skirt ... that's good motivation. I also need to get a little more serious about exercise and of course, over 40 you need to start doing some weight training. Its now long overdue.
After gym, I went to drop the love birds off at the Mall and ended up going inside. Not always a good thing, but missy needed another pair of workout pants and new trainers, so I went in to get her some. I ended up with a new handbag and finally found a black coat on sale at Truworths. Marked down from R699.00 to R360.00 ... great bargain and another item to tick off my 'basics list'.
All in all ... a good day.
The hardest part is getting started! You got started and that's great. I'm wishing you success in your quest to be a healthier you.

ReplyDeleteHi Wendy! I am sure you look fantastic, and just like the rest of us in the US we all put on some 'hibernation' weight as I like to call it :) It's especially bad because winter coincides with the holidays so it's double duty of rich delicious treats :)
ReplyDeleteAfter you get yourself in shape, would you please come over and whip my butt? I need to drop a few pounds and find I'm too tired after work to think about exercising.
ReplyDeleteI love it when I go in to look at sneakers, and get a new bag instead :D Like Ally, I know I need more exercise, but finding the time is hard, plus the 100-degree days don't help. Both my beloved pups need to lose a pound or two, and we could all benefit from more walking.
ReplyDeleteYour Blog is cute ♥
