Back to basic black

I cannot deny my love of black clothing.  It took years for me to get out of the 'black 'n white' mindset and to embrace colour, but my love of black will always remain.  I cannot imagine opening my closet and not seeing a certain amount of black.  I have a hard time passing an awesome looking black skirt, dress or pair of pants and I won't mention my black shoe fascination.

My inspiration for the outfit came from this image over on J's Everyday Fashion blog

Skirt : Truworths
Top : Loft (thanks Miz T)
Belt : unknow (gift from Miss Bean - from USA)
Shoes : Legit
Bangles : Various
Earrings : American Swiss
Rings : Truworths

I mentioned to Sharon at work today that it always feels as though my belts are 'just not right'.  Today I wished I had a red patent belt, a little thinner ... next week I'll probably wish for a snakeskin one ... and after her initial laughter and shaking of her head, she agreed, seems we women need to simply purchase every belt in every colour we see to fulfil our crazy need.

I walked up four flights of stairs today (finally).  One of my collegues said lets walk to the 10th floor and see what's going on with renovation and then we'll take the lift to the 15th floor where our company was meeting to celebrate our 4th birthday.  I must admit, my legs are feeling it this evening.  Despite doing squats or lunges almost every day, the walk really reminded me that I need to do it more often.

I can't believe tomorrow is Friday!!  What do you have planned?  Anything interesting?

Til next time ... keep it Simply Sassy.

  1. Walking stairs is always the best option ~ It REALLY works all those muscles we forget we have. I like black 'n white ~ you look super cute!!!

Weekend plans Saturday = visit to the Bamboo Farmers Market in Melville followed by a walk around HobbyX. On Sunday I am working for 2 hours at my Sandton Branch which will give me 4 hours off on Friday when I go away for a scrapbooking weekend!!! Hope your weekend is full of just the right stuff for you.

  2. I love the pop of red with the black and white. I wore a black and white dress with red shoes today...felt good.

  3. I like your skirt better than the inspiration pictures.
I hope you didn't do those stairs in heels.
