Tut tut ... Tuesday

Style is not only the clothes we put on, but how we carry and present ourselves
... comment seen on Advanced Style I really agree with this.

This 'Nada' skirt, an old Nedbank Corporate Wardrobe skirt given to me by my sister and previously worn here and here and since then, been a little overlooked, made it's way to the front of the line today, quite by chance.
Maybe a little too much golden hour in this pic.

I've been really slack about planning my outfits the last month and although I stood in front of my wardrobe last night for a good 15 minutes, nothing came to mind ... I looked at this, looked and that and considered the other, then closed the wardrobe for the night.  Overall, considering the lack of preparation, I think this outfit came together fairly well.  I love the fit of this skirt and that it's wash and wear ... it barely needs more than a good flick to look fabulous and at most, a light once over with a warm iron.  The older I'm getting, the more averse I am to ironing, and at almost 45 finally getting to the point that not EVERYTHING must be ironed (although I do shudder when I see people wearing clothes that are obviously in need of ironing) .

I've almost finished my book Pefect Match, and am loving it.  Interestingly, the older I'm getting, the slower I'm reading ... I used to barrel through a book in two days and now, I seem to be taking it slower, savouring it more, enjoying it, like a good piece of chocolate you allow to melt on your tongue and then gently touch on your palate, making it last that little bit longer.  I'm enthralled by the storyline and found that often, I read so quickly, I did not get to truly meet the characters and make a lasting connection.  So it's been a rather conscious decision this time to simply enjoy it and be part of the story for longer ... I think I've stopped racing through everything, and it's a feeling that is flowing into other parts of my life, and I'm enjoying it.  Don't know what or whom I was racing all those years!

Last night we saw the Oprah interview with Rob Lowe ... oh my oh my oh my, he is delicious.  Miss Bean  kept saying, 'Oh he's hot' ... repeatedly.  I must admit, when I was younger, he did not appeal to me much, I found him too pretty, but as he's aged, he's simply delicious.  I think I'm going to read his book ... loved the title, so original.  I got the feeling that he's a honest person, maybe I'm totally wrong, but he just came across as real, down to earth, humble and just plain honest.  I like that.

I think I've rambled on enough already ... be Fabulous and take a moment to smell them roses.

  1. Most men get more attractive as they mature. You can sense greater depth in them.

  2. You are looking good...I feel guilty because I have not been reading much lately. I get so caught up with the stories that I become totally anti-social...so I tend to leave reading for holidays.

  5. Hi guys,

Ally - I do agree completely, Richard Gere is delicious now and I could not stand him before.

Lynette - thanks sweetie, I know the feeling and that's why I've tried to slow down and be more human when reading ;-)

Dimi - I can understand that statement. I'd love to visit Greece and am thrilled for my sister as she is going over next month to watch her son play in a water polo tournament.

Cat - I think I got the cardi at Truworths, will check for you.
