Weekend

Weekend  = end of the weak ... or sometimes I feel it's the Weakend.  Feeling a little cynical and miffed at things, so forgive me.

I did get a few things ticked off my to do list, namely :
  • Sew button back on Peach/Apricot coat
  • Tidy my wardrobe ... follow the link for some help.  But I must admit, I'm a total Flylady convert - followed her teachings and schedule when I live in Germany and honestly, if you're overwhelmed by your life ... it WORKS.
  • Do some ironing
  • Month end report
  • Outfits for the week (I try to have some idea of what I plan on wearing - one day I hope to get around to trying each one on just to see how it looks, instead of shaking my head in dismay 5 minutes before I'm due to head out the door).
  • Painted my nails ... with Revlon Ruby Ribbon ... real pretty colour and like the glitterish bits in it.  Not sure about the Matt look, so the top coat gave it a little shine which I prefer to the matt look.

I saw my nephew, his wife and little boy at the shopping centre on Friday after work.  They were having coffee as I stopped in to get some goodies for dinner, so I had to say Hello and have a chance to see the gorgeous little Michale.  Sal then paid me an usual compliment - she asked if I'd just come from work and said I looked fresh!  I felt like I needed a breath mint and a shower - so it was a welcome compliment.  But I've started to get into the habit of 'check my look in the mirror', wipe under my eyes, add a little mascara and liner and some lipstick and I feel sexy at the end of my work day.  It started one afternoon as I saw a really smart dressed lady but her makeup was a mess ... and I turned to look in the mirror and realised I look much the same - it's easy to fix and takes all of two minutes before I head out the door for home.

Then my sister said she likes the shape of my eyebrows and was wanting to ask me if I'd done them myself or had them styled ... hmmm - nope - all my own personal handiwork, so two lekker compliments started my weekend off just right.

I think I'm pre-menstraul, must be why I'm a little edge and teary - the person who finally manufactures an anti-pms/pmt table that really works is going to be a multi-billionaire.

Anyways - my looks for the week will include but are not limited to cream trousers, brown jacket, black skirt, denim dress and ... not sure of the other two days as yet - need to let the magazines talk ;-)

One more week then the other secretary will be back!

  1. I know the feeling, am feeling rather the same right now. Irritated and had enough of everyone in my house.

Nothing like a couple of great compliments to get you feeling like a million bucks.

Hope the week ahead is good. xx

  2. I've always admired your eyebrows -- they are shapely and nicely suited to your face.

Thank you for asking about Geoff. He's doing good. His treatment ended and now they're waiting to see its effect. His spirits are high and he's enjoying life. That alone is a big deal for someone with something so grave hanging over their head.

  3. I hope you have a nice week! I've been so busy recently, so I've been feeling sort of burnt out. I guess it's a welcome change from having nothing to do, but I'm sort of looking forward to my vacation... July cannot come soon enough.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment - I love hearing others feelings and appreciate your time. Please be honest - BUT kind.

Have a fabulous day now and I'll be coming round to visit you as soon as I can.
