Hmmm ... does my outfit show how little prep went into this look beforehand?  I think it s.c.r.e.a.m.s. lack of planning and imagination ... lol.  I kinda had a look in mind, but the pieces I was going for were simply not working.  This waistcoat has only been on the blog once before and I have put it in the 'for sale' pile twice, then pulled it out and thought, you have potential.  Do you have any other styling tips - or it is as 'frumpy' looking at what I see it as?

I don't do red lipstick - at all.  I have really thin lips, so when I were red on my lips, my lips look even thinner.  It kinda makes me cringe because my lips like a mean witches stripe across myface - so I have a real mental block with it.  I don't even own a red lipstick - so I had to skip this one ... however, if navy and white were the order of the day, I believe I have passed.

My hair behaved so well this morning ... why is it that some days it's like an untamed child and no amount of coaxing will make it do as you wish.  Then other days, you can't believe you ever have a hard time!

I have mostly worn my nude wedges with these white capris (but my tootsie nails are still not painted), but today took a little leap and decided to wear my two toned grey cap toe courts.  I'd usually not wear this colour with the rest of my ensemble, but decided to be a little daring and overall, I think they look fabulous.

Have you noticed that my little photographer is doing such a stunning job?  Courteney has been taking my photos in the morning and I'm really chuffed with what a great job she's been doing.

 I decided to play along with Imogens Inside Out Style FABruary Style Challenge.  The first one is Arm Candy.  I've kept is fairly simple and minimal as the top has a lot going on with the ruffles and lace.

I'm happy this week is over but I have lots to achieve this weekend.  I need to finish sorting out the study area, move my chair (oh I must remember to do photos of the before and after as well as of our new 'headboard') and get ready for our houseguests who are arriving on the 6th.  Schatzies best friend who presently lives in China is coming to stay for a few days with his girlfriend.  Liam and Marshy will be thrilled as they simply adore Sharon. 

We don't have much else planned, but if the weather stays dry, maybe we can get to do something on Sunday which does not involve trawling the Mall.

I took Liam for his eye test yesterday and his eyes have only deteriorated slightly.  Since he has an astigmatism, he'll be like his Mama and have to wear glasses/lenses for the rest of his life.  All my children wear glasses and seem to have made peace with it.  Little Liam however needs to put drops in his eyes daily as he has allergies and the Optometrist said his eyes are 'very' red, which reminds me that I need to go and get the rinse aid that I use when we do his linen wash that helps with this.

So here's to a FABulous FABruary.

I do so love the fabric of this skirt.  Its a stretchy t-shirt knit and just sits like a pj on me.  Possibly not a good thing, but it doesn't ride, doesn't dig, doesn't turn around or any crazy stuff.  I wish all my skirts were this comfortable. 

I'm having a little bloggers block this evening so I'm going to run along and get some things knocked off of my 'to do' list.

I'm celebrating ... its the last work day of the year for me ... don't be fooled, I'll work much harder at home, but at least I'm the 'boss' there ...lol.

Jodi has not photobombed for a while so it was cute when she joined us this morning ... just getting her to stop scratching was a bit of a mission.  She really smiles at me when she sits in front of me like this.  So cute she is ... but she's getting old now and battling to stand up quickly.  I find it so sad.

Now as its the home stretch, let me finish tidying my desk and office and all the bits I need to get done ... have a super day now.

Today I had to choose between a white t-shirt, a blue top and this one ... so the cerise top won out, which is not a colour I'd naturally consider wearing with an animal print skirt but overall, I think it worked out well.

I feel so much better than I did yesterday, although my back is still sore and I am a little stuffier, I feel 90% better.  I went looking for a Christmas gift for Graeme, but did not find what I was looking for.  Rather disappointing, but I still have time to try other stores.  I did get Courteneys gift and only have Liam, Taryn and their Dads gift left to get.  I already have a gift for their stepmom Elaine (yes we're odd, we buy each other gifts and many people can't understand it ... but life goes on and I choose to be happy and accept that it is what it is and honestly, she's such a gorgeous lady I can't help liking her). 

Its really quiet at our office - more staff go on leave today and the last of us hangers on are here 'til Friday.  Someone has to turn off the Christmas tree lights and pack away the computers.

I am so taken with the white capris I bought that I indulged in a teal and red pair as well. 

I went through 4 different options of tops to wear under the lace blazer and for the first time, I wished it were 15 cms longer this morning.  I first tried a tank with a gold sequence design, then a grey spaghetti strapped top before settling on this dusty pink with rose border top.  Although our work environment is fairly casual, I always feel a little awkward if my shoulders are exposed - yes, very old school I guess.  I'm also of the opinion that unless your have arms that look like Michelle Obamas or Regina Kings, you need to rethink it twice. 

My hairdresser is having a special until the end of the year, colour, cut and blow with an option of a R100 top up of 6 foils for R500 ... since my hair is going to need a little neatening, I may indulge in the foils - I'm thinking Summer holiday - time for a little lightening around the face.

Well, its off to an interesting start at our office today - so let me get on with the day.

Before I say anything else, let it be out there ... I'm not loving the belt.  Its my own fault as I had not planned this outfit beforehand and was scrambling to get done and out the house.  I think I could have chosen something that went better, or at least fitted better.  But, its done, I'm in the office, I'll live with it.

I do like this top and I think this is the third time I'm wearing it since I purchased it.  I saw another in the same design on Saturday but with more browns and almost bought it.  I decided against it though and bought a sleeveless floral top for weekend wear instead.

Its going to be boiling hot again today and I think I may need to nip out and purchase a fan as mine has given up the ghost and yesterday it was so hot in my office as I get afternoon sun and I was about falling asleep.

Its 10 am and the temperate in Johannesburg is sitting at 25°C/77°F ... its expected to reach as high as 33°C/91°F.  As I was dressing this morning, I initially choose a black and white pencil skirt, then decided it was going to be too hot, so I went for this cotton box pleated skirt as it is light and airy.  I also choose the loose top for the same reason.  The sleeves are rather pretty as they are lacy.  I dont' think this is my best look ever, but considering the impending heat ... its a better choice, the best would be to be lounging under the big tree in my garden with a book and tall beer shandy ... oh wait, its a little early for the shandy.

I feel fabulous in this outfit.  I have hummed and haaaed about buying white pants and finally decided to go for it.  Oh my, I'm so going back to Woolies for a few more pairs of these in other shades, they are super comfy and if you have hips like me, they fit so well over the area, not pulling or biting ... divine.  So all you curvy gals, get to woolies now and grab a pair.  You'll get your moneys worth of wear out of them over the summer and with Christmas, New Year, pool parties and braais on the way, they'll work for all the outings including dressing them up for work.

The shoes stole my heart on Saturday when I passed by Meltz.  We'd gone to buy Liam a desk and then stopped off for lunch, which took us past Meltz, so I had to go and have a look.  They had these shoes in Teal and Taupe as well but Schatz said I should go for these coral ones.  They're just such 'happy' shoes.  I am smitten.  My domestic worker squealed when she saw them ... I think it we wore the same size shoe she'd simply redistribute half my shoes to her closet.

I did some birthday present shopping yesterday and also some Christmas decorations shopping.  I need to add a few more items to my table centre piece and put a nail in the door to hang the wreath.  I am going to start getting the decorations out of storage and sorting through them.  I dont' think I 'need' to buy any more decorations, but the 'want' may take over.

I think my schatz is missing playing with my camera everyday, but I'm finding that doing a quick snap before I head to work is working much better ... that is until he has to leave at the same time as me ... then I'll have to get one of the boys to do the morning snap.

This skirt has not been loved much by me.  I usually feel a little frumpy when I wear it.  The 'gurus' tell gals with my shape that this is the best cut to wear This morning, as I was trying to decide what to throw on, the first thing I saw was my denim shirt and as I turned to the closet this skirt just about jumped off the hanger begging to be worn.  Its been in the sell/donate/give away pile a few times but I end up trying to give it another turn.

For the first time, it looked 'right' today.
