Still scarce ...

but alive and well and having a jolly ol' time.

We have houseguests and have been busy busy what with Christmas, house chores, then preparing for our first ever guests, it's been crazy with no time for outfit posts, but then the outfits have been seriously plain and boring.

Today we headed off to the stores and dang, I'm so disappointed, a skirt I coveted for two months was on sale, so of course I snapped it up, only to find once I got home that it's two sizes bigger than the size on the tag :-(.  I'm going to take it back, but am not overly hopeful that they will in fact have my size as I only saw the one in this size, or at least, the size on the tag.  I also got myself a new top, two bras and pj pants as well as two tops for my dd and three sleep tops.

Santas helpers were great as well ... my dd Courteney bought me a pretty top and G-man bought me a lovely handbag and a pair of shoes for Christmas (purse).  I really need to do lots of photos as I've been so spoilt and bought myself some items ... so much for TGAAD, I just could not get my act together and stick with it.

Now, since our nanny is on leave, I'm going to have to head downstairs and do some ironing for the kids ... otherwise, they'll be parading aroun in undies real soon.

I'll be back soon thought ... hope everyone is having a great time ... almost 2011!!!  Any resolutions?

It is 10:47 and although the countdown says 1 day and 10 hours, in reality, by this time tomorrow, we'll have been on the road for a good 4 hours.  I'm so ready to get out of the city and see the ocean but sadly, the weather predictions are not so good - the weather man says the next few weeks are all overcast. 

That however will just have to be that - and we'll do our best to make the most of each day - who knows when our next vacation will be with the little people.

So, for the next few days while I'm scare and quiet - have a fabulous time getting ready for Christmas and hope each day is filled with awesome memories.

December 12 - Monday in Black

So, I'm fairly sure that last Monday I commented about 'not' wearing black on a Monday and today I go and wear black ... but I added red ;-).  I woke to a real grey and miserable day here in Jozi and added to that it was real chilly - so much so that I had my heater on in my office for part of the morning - how insane is that when we're basically in the middle of summer here in the southern hemisphere?

 By the time I left the office after work though the sun was out in force and I was needing to shed the jacked by the time I got in the house.

Jacket - Studio W at Woolworths - this is the first time I wore this since G-man bought it for me about two months ago on sale maked down by 70% - what a bargain.  I liked the military look of it and am considering changing the buttons to either gold or silver ones.

It's only two days of work left, then Thursday is a public holiday and then it's H.O.L.I.D.A.Y.  I'm like a donkey on the edge at the moment, a wee bit short tempered and irritable (don't mention mother nature to me, I may strangle her right about now) and so ready for this break.

The little people still don't know that we're heading to the coast, but I have a sneaky feeling that they're suspicious ... I just hope they like the surprise.

I bought this top a while back and kinda forgot about it, but had originally bought it to wear with this skirt.

I've been up since 05:15 this morning.  It's Sunday - you're supposed to stay in bed late, but not me. 

Stay or Go

Stay or Go Question : I have this striped top, it's white with black and gold stripes and little black buttons.  I have worn it about twice ... but it just is not the right cut in my mind.  I think the main issue I have is that the sleeves seem too short.

I bought leggings at least a month ago and am still in a quandry.  I honestly can't decide if I should or shouldn't because in a sense I mostly believe the rule 'if you wore it the first time around, you don't wear it the second time'.  But my dilemma is more around how do I look, I'm neither totally repulsed nor overly impressed.  Maybe I should just keep them for around the house?  My personal vote is to only wear them at home.

So, what do you think?  Yes, wear them out (with a different tunic), no don't wear them out shopping or anything else?

I'm going to putting up some articles and asking your opinion ... and to me it counts.  I have some items in my wardrobe (mostly tops) that I have never worn, worn before I started documenting my wardrobe, or  have been gifted/donated or bought, but am not totally sure about them.  Please give me honest feedback and ideas of styling where possible ...

First one ... blue shirt, I have the same in pink, I got them from my sister a couple months back.  They're a little stiff, but I'm just not sure if I should keep them or not.

I took two photos, one with and one without a belt just to give you a better idea or what it looks like so ......

I do consider them good 'go to' shirts, when all else fails.

Its been a long month without too great success but that's all due to my own weakness in all honesty.  I've found the weekends are the hardest to stick to the plan, but the food is great and in all honesty, I often feel that all I'm doing is eating, so I don't feel deprived. 

Taking this into account, my 1.2kgs loss is not at all bad.  I've read previously that losing one kg a month is far more sustainable weight loss in the long term, than a huge amount too quickly. 

So, I'll keep working away at it and try to keep on track over the silly season.  I got a new plan and the complete food list ... exciting, they have couscous on this part which thrills me as I much prefer it to rice.

I must say, Weigh-Less is covering all the bases ... last month we got a Summer beach ready plan which has in it Top ten tips for summer which gives pointers on sticking to a schedule, reminding you to drink your water and the 'love the body you have' as well as how to survive the office party binge  and Swimsuits to hide those common problem areas.  Which reminds me that I really need to go out and get a swimsuit since we are heading off to the beach next week.

The magazine is also great and has so divine recipes in it.  I will be looking at purchasing a recipe book in January.

I did buy myself a pair of 'long shorts' last weekend, which brings my grand total of shorts to two.  Yes, two pairs of shorts.  I'm thinking I could do with another pair for the holidays and the rest will be dresses as I find they're so much cooler to wear.

G-man ran the power for the onboard fridge two nights back, he bought a portable DVD player for the journey and the radio is fixed so all that's really left now is to pack and go.

Yesterdays look

.... hmmm, looking back at the photos, I don't think the dress did much for me at all ... will give it another try in a few days with different shoes and maybe a little jacket ... any suggestions from anyone, please feel free to leave a comment.  I'd appreciate some feedback.

December 6 - Maniac Monday

... and today was truly  maniac, I barely stopped from 07:30 - 16:15 and did not even break for lunch, I gobbled it down while I worked and tomorrow is off to a crazy start as well.

The dress was a bargain from Contempo ... I saw it about two weeks back and on Saturday Courteney saw it and said she thought it would suit me, I think she knows me quite well.

I chose to wear it with a belt from Edgars and my wedge-heeled peep-toes.

Easy and breezy outfit for a mad mad Monday.

Just a few days left before holiday time ... I'm counting down the days - 11 days to go.

I've been M.I.A and it's been busy and crazy and the ADSL or the modem at home have been on the blink, but it's finally fixed so I can catch up on the last couple days that I missed.

December 1st was G-man 45th Birthday - hope you had a fabulous day 'Mein Schatz' ... I wore my favourite black pants and a black and white striped top ...
